Breakthroughis a non-profit-making organization dedicated to serving young people through cultural activities, educational activities and services. Its main income comes from donations from the community, funds, commercial sponsorship, product sales and service charges etc. To further develop our youth work and expand the scope of our services, we rely very much on the generous support from the society.

Liberal Studies Ministry

In the era flooded by individualism, functionalism and consumerism, Breakthrough emphasizes on Christian faith reflecting upon the mainstream values of the world, criticizes on elements of the contemporary culture that distort life and guides the youth to build up positive values. According to the new academic structure reform in 2009, Liberal Studies becomes a compulsory subject in senior secondary curriculum. Breakthrough takes this opportunity to develop the Liberal Studies education and ministry in full force, making use of different resources such as bi-monthly LS publication, web materials, experimental learning activities, research and development, AV production and training workshops for teachers and principals. Through such efforts in Liberal Studies, we aim at helping youngsters to develop a worldview that is based on positive core values in accordance with our Christian belief. Breakthrough's philosophy of Liberal Studies Education aims to cultivate youth's independent thinking through reflection on life, culture and personal values, so that they can eventually make sensible value judgments on day-to-day issues.

The publication "Breakazine!", probing into various social and day-to-day topics published bi-monthly, plays a core role in Breakthrough Liberal Studies Ministry. Through images and words in every issues of "Breakazine!", we hope to enlighten youth in discovering the delights of lives, leading them to think further the spirit of Liberal Studies so that they will put this into life practice. We hope that they will not be bounded by the restriction of examination and be benefited in their whole life.

Inner Challenge

Inner Challenge is an annual outdoor adventure event. Unlike other adventure games or sports activities, Inner Challenge focuses not only in task completion, while participants' experience does not limit to the event day. Starting from objective setting (to join 15km or 30km course), forming teams (4 persons a team) and support team, preparation before the event and raising funds, participants are going to experience an unforgettable journey to learn about team building and the persisting spirit.
