We believe that each and every young person has potential and creative talents that should not be taken lightly. However, confronted with the struggles of growing up, young people desperately need the care and guidance of those close to them. These people should best be able to accompany them through the valleys of their lives and to bring out the best qualities in them.

"It takes 10 years for a tree to grow but 100 years for a man to grow". Youth Work is a life-long investment. Only lives with the best quality can help to build up a harmonious, friendly and prosperous society.

Breakthrough is a non-profit-making organization dedicated to serving young people through cultural and educational activities and services. Its main income comes from donations from the community, funds, commercial sponsorship, product sales and service charges etc. To further develop our youth work and expand the scope of our services, we rely very much on he generous support of the society.

Popular culture of today is predominated by consumerism and entertainment. Magazines, though worth only 10 to 20 dollars, are filled only with fads and leisure items, some even pornography. They have not only robbed teenagers' money, but hijacked their minds. We are outraged by such a phenomenon. Why can't a magazine with wholesome contents encouraging imagination get on the scene? Thus the birth of "U+", a new expression to reach young people. It is a free, healthy bi-weekly for teenagers through which we hope to offer guidance to perceive the environment from different angles and encouragement to be original and to attempt to discover infinite possbilities in life!

Since the first issue of "U+", we have received enthusiastic review from young readers and teachers, with a free circulation of 30,000 distributed to 340 or more secondary schools and post-secondary institutes and retail stores.
