Introduction to Breakthrough Counselling Centre - overcoming life obstacles with you

The Counselling Centre is committed to providing counselling service to youth, adolescents and their families. Through appointments, the Centre offers assistance to young people who are faced with frustrations in life, emotional turmoils and stress-related difficulties. Seeing personal development through boosting their problem-solving techniques and personal growth is our goal.

There are also educational, preventive and developmental acitivities organized by the Centre, such as seminars on emotions, youth education talks, parent-child activities, basic counselling training, etc.

Psychological and family counselling service

In the journey of seeking growth, self-affirmation, realizing dreams, establishing a career and family, the ride can be rocky, and there may be:

  • frustration arising from our psyche, emotions and self-image
  • stress stemming from inter-personal relationships, dating and marriage, family ties, studies and career choice. You may consider using counselling service to rise above these hurdles in life.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a collaborative journey, in which the counsellor, basing on his/her professional knowledge and experience, leads you to:

  • proactively perceive the problem from different angles
  • get in touch with your inner world and past experience
  • search for a new direction, hope and goal

Counsellor Qualifications
All the counsellors at our Centre are Christians who have received professional training pertaining to social work or counselling.

Target
Chinese youths between the age of 11 and 18 and their families, as well as young people 18 - 30, regardless of their religion background.

Fees
Will be based on the counsellee's personal and/or family income.

The Training Series

Besides providing services to teenagers and youth, the Counselling Centre also contacts teachers, parents, ministerial staff, and youth workers and provides training to enhance experience sharing and promote counselling work. Past courses include "Basic Counselling Techniques", "The Real Me through Games", and "How to Handle Extra-marital Affairs among Christians", " How to Help Adolescents Use Net Rescuers ", "Parental Workshop on Net Addiction", etc.

Seminars for the Public

The Counselling Centre welcomes invitations to schools and organizations to hold seminars related to emotions, psychological health, youths and seniors.
